My name is Sue Rundle-Hughes and I'm an illustrator specialising in animal, children and fairy illustrations.  I have worked in educational publishing and I license my artwork for use on calendars, greeting cards, craft, stamps, fabric and cake design. I work either traditionally in gouache, watercolour and coloured pencil or digitally for my colour illustrations, graphite or ink for my black and white.  I favour digital for illustrations as it's quicker to send and make changes.

I originally trained in costume design before developing an interest in illustration.  I presently live in Stafford with my husband and three Scottish terriers, but I'm originally from Caerphilly in South Wales, famous for its cheese and magnificent, medieval castle.

I gather my inspiration from everywhere but in particular, nature, animals, children, tales of yore and fairies and my own imagination. I love all things magical and other than painting, my favourite pastimes are reading and drinking tea, preferably at the same time, curled up on a large, comfy sofa.
